Silvia Cespa, BNL

Biography: Silvia Cespa started her IT career as a software developer for banking applications. In 1987, she joined the Italian bank BNL - Banca Nazionale del Lavoro - as a developer and project leader, where her role evolved into a process improvement and organization specialist. 5 years later, she had the opportunity to start deploying Lean management in the bank IT department. Since then, she and her team have applied the approach to the various fields of IT, involving 450 people, making BNL one of the most advanced IT departments in the Lean IT practice in Europe.
